Deen Over Dunya ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide the app experience:

Account information: Email address and account ID because sign-in is required for this iPhone release.
App usage data: Reading progress, bookmarks, habits, and routine data — stored locally on your device by default.
Screen Time data: When you enable the Protection feature, the app uses Apple's Screen Time and FamilyControls APIs to manage app restrictions. Your browsing history, app usage metrics, and Screen Time passcode stay on-device and are not sent to our servers.
Optional diagnostics: If you enable Share Diagnostics, crash reports and reliability diagnostics are processed by Sentry so we can fix bugs faster.

How We Use Your Information

To provide core app functionality (prayer times, Qur'an reading, routines, habits)
To sync your data across devices when you opt into cloud sync
To enable the Protection feature using Apple's Screen Time framework

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored locally on your device by default. If you opt into cloud sync, your data is encrypted and stored securely via Supabase with row-level security policies. We never sell, share, or monetise your personal data.

Screen Time & FamilyControls

The Protection hub uses Apple's FamilyControls and Screen Time APIs to help you manage app usage and block distracting content. Screen Time browsing history, app usage metrics, and the Screen Time passcode stay on your device and are not available to us. This App Store release supports personal protection on your own iPhone.

Third-Party Services

Supabase: Cloud database for optional data sync (encrypted, EU/US hosted)
Apple: Screen Time and FamilyControls frameworks (on-device processing)
Sentry: Optional crash reporting and diagnostics, only if you enable Share Diagnostics.

Your Rights

You can:

Sign in and then use core reading, prayer, routine, and protection features offline on your device
Delete your account and associated cloud data at any time
Export your data
Turn off Share Diagnostics at any time

Children's Privacy

Deen Over Dunya does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The Protection feature's FamilyControls integration is designed to be managed by device owners/parents through Apple's family sharing settings.

Advertising

Deen Over Dunya contains no advertisements and does not use any advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email if you have an account.
